Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: United Kingdom (Working with suppliers across Asia)
Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team and drive growth in the wholesale sector. In this role, you will focus on developing and strengthening relationships with suppliers across Asia, with a particular emphasis on food, beverages, tea, and tobacco products. Your expertise will be key to expanding our supplier network, managing sourcing and pricing, and optimizing our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supplier Relationship Management
o Build and maintain strong, reliable relationships with suppliers across Asia to ensure consistent product supply.
o Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to maximize profitability.
o Conduct regular assessments of supplier performance and implement quality control measures to maintain high product standards.
2. Market Research and Strategy Development
o Conduct in-depth market research to identify new products, trends, and emerging opportunities in the food, beverages, tea, and tobacco sectors.
o Analyze UK and Asian market trends to inform strategies for product sourcing, pricing, and inventory management.
3. Sales and Revenue Growth
o Collaborate with sales teams to design growth strategies that align with market demands.
o Work closely with marketing to create and implement promotional activities to increase brand presence in the UK market.
o Set revenue targets and monitor performance, adjusting strategies to ensure sales objectives are met.
4. Supply Chain and Logistics Coordination
o Oversee the end-to-end logistics process, coordinating shipments from Asian suppliers to UK distribution centers.
o Partner with the supply chain team to manage inventory levels, prevent stock-outs, and ensure product availability.
o Ensure full compliance with import and export regulations for food, beverages, tea, and tobacco products.
5. Cross-Cultural Communication and Collaboration
o Serve as a liaison between Asian suppliers and internal teams, facilitating effective communication and alignment on objectives.
o Tailor communication and negotiation approaches to foster productive relationships with suppliers from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Salary
GBP 50,000 PER/YEAR to 53,000 PER/YEAR
Skills/Qualifications/Experience Required
• Strong skills in business development, including prospecting, proposal drafting, and closing deals.
• Exceptional project and time management skills to handle multiple supplier and client relationships effectively.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with an ability to foster long-term partnerships.
• Proficient presentation skills and experience representing the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
• Experience working with high-level professionals and government officials within Asia.
• Self-driven with a strong initiative to generate new leads and develop strategic relationships across the Asian market.
• Strong client-facing, negotiation, and sales skills tailored to wholesale and distribution industries.
• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese would be an advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of the Asian market (especially Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore), with a proven track record in business development and sales growth in Asia.
• Experience managing corporate relationships and navigating international supply chains within the food and beverage sectors.
• Excellent IT skills, with experience in using supply chain management software.
